Intro to The Impyrion Chronicles Part II - The Setting

Updated: Feb 3

Welcome back!

In this post we will be diving a bit deeper into the setting of the Impyrion Chronicles, establishing a basis for the time and place that our stories begin.

— The Place —

The Impyrion Chronicles takes place primarily in the realm of Vallus—which is essentially a version of our universe. It's also the centermost realm of the 9 known realms of what I like to call, the Quantiverse.

For the sake of time and your own self-discovery, I won't go into detail about the Quantiverse here. However, I will say it's a wonderous and fantastical place that I can't wait for you to see!

There are a vast number of worlds in Vallus, each filled with unique races and landscapes. We will spend the majority of our time on the planet Avalos, the homeworld of the Impyrion. There you will find a blend of vibrant, fantasy-style landscapes and shimmering, technologically-advanced cities.

— The Time —

There are thousands of years worth of history and lore to explore in the Quantiverse. The stories of our main characters begin during the tail-end of the "Seryllia Era"—a 500-year age of peace that directly followed the brutal, 100-year Praetorian War.

As an introduction to the main characters of the Impyrion Chronicles, I will be posting a series of short stories to give you a sneak-peek into their world. Each character will receive four stories that explore key moments in their lives, leading up to book one of the Impyrion Chronicles series.

Be on the lookout for those, as they will be coming very soon!

I hope you've enjoyed this brief introduction to the worlds and settings of the Impyrion Chronicles. In the next post, we'll dive deeper into the characters and factions of the I.C., as well as a spotlight on the first main character you'll read about—one of my personal favorites, Lamiya Tanyx.

See you in the Quantiverse!
